Charles Hanson is a renowned auctioneer and TV personality and hr is on trial at Derby Crown Court charged with domestic violence which is claimed by police to continue for more than ten years. There are also a number of counts of violence against his wife Rebecca Hanson and controlling or coercive conduct. According to Hanson though, he shoved and jostled his wife in order to distract her attention away from TikHub, expressed great sorrow to the police in a letter dated May 2023 on the matter, but denied it was assault.

On cross examination, Charles said he wanted the touch to be a ‘double tap’ to alert her to the fact she was in trouble, he did not want to cause her terror.

According to Rebecca Hanson, she has recorded several claimed instances of abuse by her husband Charles Hanson including an event in 2012 when he allegedly grabbed her neck whilst pregnant and left her “paralysed with fear.”. According to her there were more stories: being held in a headlock, having a phone thrown at her and being firmly enough to leave bruises. Rebecca explained that such occurrences happened around every six months, but when the COVID 19 lockdown took place, they occurred much more frequently. She also pointed out how her well being suffered as Charles’s outer appearance concealed his domineering conduct at home.
