Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll, who got married seven years ago, have decided to end their divorce, a week after they first thought about it.
They fixed their problems and asked the court to drop their divorce papers on June 11, 2024, in Palm Beach County, Florida. They made this choice just before the 2024 U.S. Open, where McIlroy is playing.
McIlroy started the divorce process on May 13, 2024, right after his Wells Fargo Championship win and before the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
He said his marriage was over in court documents. Stoll got the divorce papers on the same day, with 20 days to reply.
The announcement of their divorce surprised many people, especially since the couple usually didn’t attract much attention.
